I look forward to meeting each and every new patient! As your healthcare provider, you can expect comprehensive care delivered in an empathetic and compassionate manner. Together, we can achieve all of your healthcare goals.
What excites me the most about practicing dentistry is the relationships formed with patients during their dental experience. Without my patients, I wouldn’t be here. My goal as a dentist is to establish lifelong patients. In doing so, we get to know each other on a very personal level. I believe that trust is the most important thing I can convey to my patients.
I decided at a very young age that I wanted to be a dentist. Of course, I always had a great relationship with my dentist growing up, but it was my orthodontist who left a lasting impression on me. I was an orthodontic patient from the age of seven. As you can imagine, I spent many years in the office while my teeth and jaw were growing. The warm compassion I felt from the staff and doctor left an impression on me. Today, I strive to exhibit the same compassion for my patients.
Education and continuing education
I am originally from the “Sunshine State” of Florida, where I attended the University of Florida for my Bachelor of Science, as well as my Doctorate of Dental Medicine. My undergraduate degree was in zoology and I participated in research on American alligators. I am proud to be a Florida Gator!
I moved to Brooklyn, NY after graduating dental school for a two year general practice residency at New York Methodist Hospital. During residency, I took interest in cosmetic and complex prosthetic cases including placing and restoring implants. I then went on to practice in the financial district of Manhattan and in Astoria Queens.
I attend the Greater New York Dental meeting in New York City every year, where I engage in all topics of continuing education. Recently, I have been taking more advanced prosthetic courses, specifically in implants. I am a member of the American Dental Association and the California Dental Association.
I am most passionate professionally about implant dentistry. With my residency training, I have the surgical and prosthetic skill set to practice this amazing discipline of dentistry. Implant dentistry is completely changing the way we look at restoring people’s smiles. It can be a very conservative treatment option for patients and non-invasive as well.
Outside the office
I am married to my lovely wife, Heather, who is orginally from south Orange County. We recently welcomed out first child, Hudson, into this world in 2016 and will be expecting our second son early 2018.
When I am not working, you can find me outdoors cycling, running, or swimming. I recently got a taste of mountain biking here in southern California and can’t wait to keep it up! I compete in a handful of triathlons every season. I am trying to get back into surfing since being removed from Florida. I enjoy snowboarding and wake boarding as well when I get the chance.
In the community
I think being involved in the community of Newport Beach is extremely important, especially if I will be raising my family here. While I am very new to the area, I am looking forward to learning more about what this amazing place has to offer.
In the past, I have traveled to Honduras and the Dominican Republic in the Caribbean, on mission trips to provide dental services to those in need. I also have ridden my bicycle across the US to raise funds and awareness for individuals with disabilities for an organization called Push America, based out of Charlotte, NC.
